 L&T John Deere 5310

The L&T John Deere 5310 tractor made in India is a result of a joint venture between John Deere  and Larsen and Toubro.  The factory is near Pune, India and produces three models of tractors:  5310 (55 engine HP), 5203 (47 engine HP) 5103S (42 engine HP) and 5103 (40 engine HP). The tractors are based on the 5000 series John Deere tractors produced in Augusta GA.  More information can be found at a  John Deere Journal article on the factory and at the L&T JD website

The L&T John Deere 5310 toy tractor is made by Hi-Tech Gallery in New Delhi for L&T JD.  The tractor is approximately 1/20 scale and is made of mostly plastic with rubber tires.  These tractors  are very detailed and include all of the shift levers and a simulated 3 point hitch.   They come in a very colorfull box showing the real tractor with descriptions in both English and Hindi.  The tractors are not for sale to the general public in India and is only used for Dealer samples and gifts.  The box is marked "Toy model not for sale"   Only a very limited number have been brought into the United States and very few (less than 30) are for sale in the US.

2 models are available.  The first edition did not have a canopy.  There is very limited quantity of this one left.  The second edition includes a removable canopy that snaps onto the tractor.  The tractor is modified to fit the canopy and there is a sticker added to the box "with canopy."
