1972 Case 108 I
bought this 108 off of ebay. It didn't run, but came with a
snowblade so I could use it to move snow. Scott is sitting on it
shortly after I bought it. He is a little bigger now.
1971 Case 220 This
220 is actually Lyn's. Her grandpa had used this tractor to mow
his farm place since it was almost new. It was pretty worn
out after 30 years of mowing, but I wanted to restore it completely
after he passed away. Here is what it looked
like before I started on it. The 108 is setting behind it.
I had to make or replace several wear points on the tractor. The
front axle was worn, so I bored it out an made brass bushings to
tighten up the spindles. I also had to make bushings for the
steering shaft and make new implement attaching points on the frame.
The hood had a big dent in the side. The metal was stretched
pretty badly so I cut that section out and welded in a patch panel.
The tractor turned out pretty nice in the end.
1973 Case 220 I bought this 220 off of the internet. It was in
Taylorville, IL. The price was right and it included a snow
blade, wheel weights, chains and sleeve hitch. I planned to use
this to blade snow along with the 108.
I bought it off of these pictures.
The tires were pretty bad so I replaced them with ag tires. I had
to narrow up the front rims by 2" in order to get the front triple rib
tires to look right. The front weight came off of a cheap MTD
lawn tractor that had a rear bagger. The weight mounts into the
quick attach implement brackets. Just for something different, I
painted the hood and fenders balck like a Black Knight
demonstrator. Case actually did make demonstrator garden
tractors, but obviously, they are hard to find. The last picture
is with the tractor ready to move snow.
We went to Little G show in Dyersville, IA in 2005 with our garden
tractors. We had a good time displaying the tractors and Scott
and Zach enjoyed tractor pulling. They thought that was much for
fun than pedal tractor pulling.
